24 7 Dudes of the Weekend: Week 4

Hitters

Blake Mitchell (Texas Twelve Maroon 2023)

Texas Twelve Maroon 2023’s Blake Mitchell was instrumental in his squad capturing the title at the Pudge Rodriguez World Classic this weekend. The 2023 LSU commit from Sinton (TX) got it done on both the mound and at the plate to showcase his two-way potential. The LHH utilizes a compact swing in the box to spray line drives and make consistent hard contact. On the bump the RHP touches 91 MPH with a fastball that has late life to bust in on the hands of righties and a sharp curveball with nearly 20 MPH of difference that makes batters look lost in the box. With these previously mentioned skills, it’s easy to forget he’s also a catcher that uses his arm strength to throw lasers down to second base and hose runners. He’s unquestionably a top of the line prospect in all facets.

The uncommitted 2022 from Ralston Valley (CO) is a physical presence in the box that stands out among the competition. The right-handed batter starts out in a crouched position to generate plenty of power from the lower half with quick hands that extend the barrel well to hit balls to all fields with authority.
